Accessibility

The ANA Enterprise is committed to making access to our sites easy for everyone – wherever you are. From dark rooms to noisy areas – it's important to the ANA Enterprise that visitors can access our information with minimal difficulties.

To ensure this, the ANA Enterprise website is designed to comply with the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Level A guidelines for accessibility.

Useful links

There's lots of free software to improve your accessibility online:

  • AbilityNet.com - for information about customizing your computer.
  • AccessFirefox.org - to enable accessibility features in Firefox and download extensions.
  • Apple.com - for details about the Apple Macintosh accessibility features.
  • Microsoft.com - for details about the Microsoft accessibility wizard and how to use it.

Browser versions

The ANA Enterprise regularly updates its site to maintain accessibility across a wide range of browsers and platforms to suit your preference. Before any updates are released, these are tested across the most popular platforms.

For the best experience on our sites, we advise you to download the most recent version of your browser – as pages may not display correctly on outdated browsers.

PDFs

Download a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, to view all Portable Document Format (PDF) files with ease. There readers are free, and enable you to view documents throughout the site. Click on a PDF link to open the file in a new browser window, where you will be able to view or print the file.

If you want to save the file, right click the PDF link and select 'Save Target As' from the options. This will enable you to save the file to your computer hard drive, to freely access whenever you wish.

Accessibility of PDFs

If, for any reason, you cannot use Acrobat Reader to view documents, Adobe provides a free online tool which converts them into text.

To use this service, simply send the web address (URL) of the Adobe Acrobat document you want to read through the web form listed below.

Download the Adobe Acrobat Online Conversion Tool

You will have the option to view the document as a web page (HTML) or as plain text. Or, you can choose to have it emailed to you as an attachment.

Adobe provides information about accessibility and adobe products, and Acrobat Reader 7 has a number of accessibility features.

It will also read hyperlinks and menus, so navigation becomes simpler, as well as PDF documents (using Adobe Reader 7 or 8).

Text color and size

To make our pages easiest to read, we have used combinations of colors and font size that provide sufficient contrast.

We've designed the pages so that it should be possible for you to increase the size of the text using built-in controls on your browser.

Images

For a description of a non-decorative image, hover the cursor over the image. This will display the 'alt' text description.
