The discovery of antibiotics was remarkable and changed the lives of millions of people. However, since then, germs have looked for ways to survive, or resist, the drugs designed to kill them. When germs develop the ability to grow in the presence of these drugs, this is called antibiotic, or antimicrobial, resistance. This module examines antimicrobial resistance and the role of the clinical nurse in combating antimicrobial resistance. so that you can implement these interventions in your practice.
