Amid Increase in Respiratory Viruses, ANA Urges Eligible Adults and Children to Get Vaccinated

The American Nurses Association (ANA) continues to urge all eligible adults and children to get vaccinated against COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection (RSV), the flu, and if eligible, to receive a booster. The CDC reports that, while respiratory illness activity and the circulation of new variants is increasing across the United States, vaccination rates for COVID-19, influenza, and RSV remain low.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY: The National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing

The American Nurses Association (ANA), as part of its journey of racial reconciliation, has committed up to $20,000 in funds to be awarded by the National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing to organizations implementing evidence-based strategies to dismantle institutional, structural, and systemic racism in nursing.

ANA Board of Directors Appoints Laura J. Wood as New ANCC President

The American Nurses Association (ANA) Board of Directors has appointed Laura J. Wood, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN as President of its credentialing subsidiary, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Dr. Wood will continue her current two-year ANCC Board service as President Designate until her term as President begins Jan 1, 2024.
