ANCC 2022 Call for Commission Members

On behalf of the ANCC Board of Directors, the Nominations Committee issues this call for qualified nominees for appointment to seats on the Commission on Accreditation in Nursing Continuing Professional Development (COA-NCPD), Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs (COA-PTP), Commission on Magnet® (COM), and which serve as the governing bodies for their respective ANCC programs.

Racial reckoning, nurse staffing, workplace violence and climate change are top issues at ANA Membership Assembly

The ANA Membership Assembly, the governing and official voting body of the American Nurses Association (ANA) took historic action today to begin a journey of racial reckoning by unanimously voting yes to adopt a racial reckoning statement. In addition, Assembly representatives acted on several critical issues including nurse staffing, workplace violence (WPV), and climate change. More than 300 nurses, observers, and other leaders attended the two-day governance meeting in Washington, DC. Eligible representatives also elected national leaders.

RNs convene to consider lessons learned and take on priority issues

The impact of climate change on health, solutions to address verbal abuse and workplace violence, and the nurse staffing crisis were topics of discussion during Dialogue Forums at the 2022 ANA Membership Assembly, the governing and official voting body of the American Nurses Association (ANA). Nurses and others gathered for the governance meeting which commenced on June 10 in Washington, DC. Eligible representatives will elect association leaders.

The power of nursing returns to Washington, DC in force

For the first time in three years, nurses, students, and other leaders gathered today in Washington, DC for ANA Hill Day on June 9, a related event to the ANA Membership Assembly Meeting June 10-11. They will bring nursing priorities to meetings with members of Congress and their staff to build support for federal legislation addressing workplace violence and burnout, preventing unnecessary delays in patient care, and removing barriers to APRN full practice authority.
